46. ROMAN ENAMELED SHIELD BROOCH

A lovely example of this quite rare type of plate brooch. Roman 2nd - 3rd Century AD. Enameled oval, centre-boss type (Hattatt p.364).


Condition: Very good. Bronze in lovely condition with traces of green enamel visible. Could do with a deeper clean to reveal more of the enamel. Pin missing as usual.
