About Me

Welcome to Minerva Ancients.

My interest in the past began as a child when visiting historic houses and castles in the South of England. I began buying antiques about 30 years ago and then one day I had the opportunity to hold an ancient Greek jug (oinochoe) in my hands. I've never looked back.

My great passion is the Roman world and in particular Roman Britain, an area in which I have developed considerable expertise. I studied archaeology at university and this led to an interest in small finds, particularly ceramics, glass and utilitarian domestic items.

I am foremost a collector, not a dealer. I love to share my interest and knowledge with others. I enjoy giving talks on various aspects of Roman life in Britain to adults and children. I have been a regular participant in historical and re-enactment events, where I get the opportunity to share my knowledge and allow the public to view and handle ancient objects.

I buy predominately at auction, usually from old collections established during the height of antiquity collecting in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. From time to time I sell items on eBay. You can find me by clicking the eBay logo below.

If you have any questions about purchasing, please don't hesitate to contact me by using one of the many links throughout the website.

I hope you find something you like.

Best wishes
